BOARD OVERVIEW

The board of Brewer's Hill Neighbors consists of seven members including the president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and three members-at-large.  During the transition of a new president, the immediate past president remains on the board in a member-at-large position for one year.

Elected officers serve a two year term except At-Large members who are elected each year.  A person can serve no more than 2 consecutive full terms in the same role.  Nominations for positions are considered in September and elections are held in November.  Only members in good standing are eligible to vote.  Board members are expected to attend 80% of board and general membership meetings.

BOARD MEMBER ROLES

The President

  • Provides efficient direction and leadership to the board and community meetings
  • Engages with local and state officials and elected leaders on initiatives and matters involving the community
  • Reviews all proposed development impacting the neighborhood
  • Assigns tasks to board and committees members as needed​

The Vice President

  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the president
  • Assists the president in delegating duties assigned and oversees initiatives
  • Engages with local and state officials and elected leaders on initiatives and matters involving the community
  • Maintains order during meetings and serves as an informed source about association rules and bylaws
  • Solicits new business memberships

The Treasurer

  • Maintains the membership roster and collects dues for new and existing members
  • Oversees the finances of the association and maintain financial records to include preparing a budget, preparing and filing taxes for the association, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports.
  • Pays all expense and manages budget to ensure a healthy cash flow.
 

The Secretary

  • Prepares agenda for meetings and provides proper notice of meetings
  • Records meeting minutes for monthly meetings and distribute to members
  • Manages communication with members on social media and e-mail

The Member-At-Large

  • Chairs or assists with committees
  • Leads special projects as assigned

All members of the board will represents the Brewer's Hill neighborhood at community meetings or events
